Overview
Use Ledger Live to add accounts for Bitcoin, Ethereum, and hundreds of other blockchains. The app gives you portfolio metrics, transaction history, and a single view of all addresses that stem from your Ledger device. Accounts are read-only in the app until you build a transaction and sign it on-device.
Ledger Live is maintained and updated by Ledger — always use the official download at ledger.com/ledger-live.
Buy & Swap
Ledger Live integrates partner services to let you buy crypto with local payment methods and swap between supported tokens. While these services charge fees, they are accessed through the Ledger Live app and do not expose your private keys. Compare partner fees and routes before confirming a purchase.
Staking
For supported assets, Ledger Live provides a staking flow that keeps keys offline. You choose a validator (when applicable), delegate from the app, and confirm the delegation on your Ledger device. Rewards and undelegation windows are blockchain-specific — consult the chain’s docs for exact timing.
Security
Ledger Live’s security model: the app constructs unsigned transactions; the Ledger hardware wallet signs them. Verify addresses on-device and never share your 24-word recovery phrase. Ledger documentation and the setup guide at ledger.com/start explain best practices for seed storage and firmware updates.
Tip: Before any significant transfer, send a small test transaction to confirm the address and flow.
Privacy: Use Ledger Live with different accounts for different purposes to limit on-chain linkability.
